Procedural crowd generation for semantically augmented virtual cities

Authoring meaningful crowds to populate a virtual city can be cumbersome, time-consuming and an error-prone task. In this work, we present new framework for authoring populated environments in easier faster way, by relying on the use of procedural techniques. Our consists generation semantically-augmented cities drive simulation crowds. The main novelty lies agendas each individual inhabitant (alone or as part family) using rule-based grammar that combines semantics with autonomous persons’ characteristics. A population authored editing rule files flexibility reusing, combining extending rules previous populations. results show how logical consistent sequences whereabouts easily generated crowd providing good starting point bring life.
